The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Dear Amber, Rachael and Robbie,

A Happy Birthday form letter from your grandma!  Good grief!!!!!

But after all, my major wishes for each of you are the same:  happiness, peace, health—all the good stuff.

There are no strings attached to the money.

There are strings attached to the book.  It’s not exactly a gift since it requires time to read it…your time…time that belongs to you to use as you see fit.  This is not a very long book.  Even so, it may take a while for the messages to sink in.  It’s like an acorn that contains a giant oak.  When you plant an acorn of truth in your heart, it will grow and give you shade when things get too hot.  We do know that when a seed is put into the ground, the law pertaining to growth operates and a plant is produced, and that unless a seed is planted, no plant will be produced.—Ernest Holmes

You may not be able to control all the thoughts that pop into your mind, but you can choose which ones get rooted.  If you plant sticker burr seeds, guess what you get?  So, when life sticks you, you’ve got some mental gardening to do.  Pull the sticker burrs out by their roots.  (Be sure to wear gloves!)

Since I was a kid, I’ve depended on books to help me navigate life.  Through books, I’ve been able to learn from the mistakes and successes of others.  Books have helped me through the pain and embarrassment of mistakes when I just had to make them for myself.  This is a great little nutshell book that shrinks and simplifies many clues to the mystery of Life.  Only you can solve the mystery of you.  We all need all the help we can get.  The parable in this book offers a lot of help in a small package.

it takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are.—e.e. cummings

Your mind is the key to your experience, and your use of it determines your health, prosperity and security.—R. C. Barker

There is a guidance for each of us, and by lowly listening

we shall hear the right word.—Ralph Waldo Emerson

Our part is to be ready and willing to be guided into truth and liberty.

NOTE:  Cluster birthdays!  My granddaughters were born two weeks apart, March 20 and April 4.  My grandson was also born on April 4, five years      later, which is also the birthday of their great-grandmother.   My own falls between the two dates.

The book I gave them was The Laws of Spirit, by Dan Millman.
